STEM in Action at Wonder Kids: A Dinosaur Discovery Adventure!

At Wonder Kids, we believe that the best learning happens when children are excited, engaged, and empowered to explore. This week, our little scientists took part in a hands-on STEM experience they won’t soon forget, a dinosaur-themed science experiment filled with bubbling volcanoes, curious fossils, and roaring fun!

What Did We Do?

Using simple materials like baking soda, vinegar, and colorful props, the children created their own erupting volcano in the middle of a dinosaur landscape. They carefully observed chemical reactions, made predictions, and learned about cause and effect, all while laughing and squealing with delight!

Alongside the volcano, we explored dinosaur footprints using homemade “fossil dough,” matched toy dinos to fact cards, and practiced fine motor skills by setting up a mini Jurassic park with trees, fences, and prehistoric creatures.

Why STEM Matters?

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activities help young children develop important life skills like critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. It’s not just about the science, it’s about asking questions, testing ideas, and finding joy in discovery.

By integrating playful themes like dinosaurs, we make complex concepts accessible and FUN. And when kids have fun while learning, the lessons stick.

The Best Part?

The wonder in their eyes. The teamwork. The questions like “Can we do it again?” and “What happens if we add more vinegar?”

At Wonder Kids, moments like these are why we do what we do.
